Sadhana Kitchen Review

Sadhana Kitchen is a vegan cafe off Enmore Street in Newtown that offers a huge range of seasonal raw foods, wholefoods, smoothies, teas and raw desserts. They offer both a breakfast and lunch menu and have a drool-worthy dessert fridge for take-away goodies.

Every time I go to Sadhana I absolutely stuff myself full on the amazing wholesome food… it’s hard not to when it’s  you can almost feel your body and soul being nourished with every bite you take! The cafe has a very chilled out vibe and is often full of yogis from the yoga studio next door. You can sit inside or in their little herb garden at the front of the building. It’s lovely hanging out there, but just be aware that the staff take on the relaxing atmosphere too – so don’t go when you’re starving as you can wait a little while for your meal. It is worth the wait though…

Breakfast Scramble (scramble of almonds, sunflower seeds and seasonal veggies with onion flat bread)

As you should know by now if you’ve read my reviews, I have a total sweet tooth so I absolutely love the sweet menu items from Sadhana; you can’t go past the raw Banana Crepes (sprouted flax seed with fresh banana and berries, topped with caramel & chocolate fudge sauce), SuperFeast Smoothie (cacao powder, raspberries, goji berries, almonds, maca, coconut oil & shredded coconut) and any of the raw desserts in (trifle or a range of changing cheesecakes). But if it’s a savoury meal you’re after I can highly recommend the raw lasagne or breakfast scramble!

I'm Jenna and I began my journey to a vegan lifestyle after watching Earthlings in 2010. Before I pressed play on that documentary I had no interest in 'giving up' meat, and yet that day I resolved to never eat it again. After 18 months of vegetarianism I became vegan in 2012 and have loved every minute of my compassionate lifestyle since. The Power Plant is my place to promote what I love - yummy food and cruelty-free products!
