Vegan eats: Vegie Bar Melbourne

Post Type

Earlier this month I joined Jenna in Melbourne for a few days. It’s the first time I left Sydney since becoming vegan but I knew that Melbourne is a vegan mecca. Luckily for me we stayed in Fitzroy and really close to the Vegie Bar!

I haven’t been to the Vegie Bar before even though I visited Melbourne many times. I heard great things about their menu and was really excited to try it for myself. The food was so good we ate there not once, but on three occasions! We almost had a table named after us lol 🙂

Lunch – visit #1

Jenna ordered this yummy rice noodle dish and I must admit I was jealous. My Gado Gado was yummy, the sauce in particular, but I have a thing for flat rice noodles and looking at the pics I’m craving this big time.

Lunch – visit #2

We shared these tasty quinoa ‘meat’balls. The sauce is the satay from my Gado Gado the day before – I could bathe in this stuff it is that amazing.

We both ordered the portobello mushroom stack with quinoa sweet potato mash. It was fresh, summery and so good I could eat it every day.

That evening we came for dinner and had burritos and nachos but we were so hungry there was no time for photos.
