Ungaro Raw is the relatively new kid on the vegan block. They opened late 2013 and have been serving vegetarian, vegan, glutenfree and raw dishes to hungry healthy Sydney folk ever since. I only just tried it myself but I’ve been twice in one week soooo…. Here’s my honest Ungaro Raw review for y’all.
I had a lunch date on Thursday and my friend knew I was vegan and she picked a vegan place to meet. I can’t tell you how nice that is, it barely ever happens…. So we rocked up to Ungaro Raw and found the place relatively busy. There were 2 hour carparks outside and across the road so parking wasn’t a problem.
We ordered fresh juices – I had the Beautiful juice with orange, pineapple and mint ($7) and it was delicious. For mains we had the Ungaro salad with kale and roast veggies ($14) and the tofu stirfry with brown rice ($14 + $3). Both meals were delicious! Flavour combos were just right and the meals very generous. I loved filling up on fresh, crunchy veggies – yum!

On Saturday I had a creative meeting for my business and we went to Ungaro Raw to get some yummy vegan food. Now I discovered this place I had to go back!
We started with coffee and a juice (I had the Beautiful juice again – yum) and we shared a raw tasting platter with dips, veggies and raw crackers ($16).

My oh my this was a gorgeous dish! My first time with raw crackers and they were unbelievably good. The dips were to die for, and we finished the lot. Yup, everything was gone.

Raw dips and crudites
For mains we decided on a Mexican theme – I had nachos ($16) and Danny had quesadillas ($16). The meals were so generous I ate my own weight in food. Which is such a contrast to how I normally eat when meeting clients and friends because we tend to meet in places where vegan gluten free options are more than often a garden salad and chips. Yawn.

Nachos and quesadilla – hola!
If you’re in Sydney you have to – absolutely have to – try Ungaro Raw. If you don’t you will regret it! Their dishes are divine and with a full breakfast and lunch menu you just can’t go wrong.
